The Municipality of Mafra, with a rich and vast tradition in ceramic art – in the fields of pottery and clay sculpture by José Franco -, is a founding member of the Portuguese Association of Ceramic Cities and Towns, which in Portugal promoted the “Bom Dia Cerâmica (Good Morning Ceramics)”, organized by the European Grouping of Territorial Cooperation of Ceramic Cities.

Due to the pandemic of the new Coronavirus, which causes Covid-19 disease, this year’s edition (held in May) was special and entirely digital, with the dissemination of the European ceramic cultural and historical heritage to be carried out by sharing videos on social media – the video presented here is precisely Mafra’s representation in this European storefront.

In this edition of 2020, too, a promotional campaign was launched that displays the “Feeling the Portuguese Ceramics” seal to identify national products, in which categories traditional pottery, clay sculpture and the earthenware industry.
