Recently, Filipa Broeiro, holder of the European title in women’s bodyboarding, among many others, was interviewed by CNN Portugal.
The athlete from Ericeira Surf Clube (ESC) shared her difficulties in obtaining financial support to advance further in her career.
Filipa needs 20 thousand euros to fulfill her dream
The 22-year-old bodyboarder stated that she is at a “standstill”, explaining that she has been trying to seek help from various entities (without success so far) to achieve her next goal: winning the world bodyboarding championship.

The ESC athlete already has more than 20 national and international titles, including the title of Portugal Cup Champion in 2017, European Champion in 2018, ETB European Vice-Champion in 2022, and ETB European Champion in 2023. Her merits were recognized this year, as she was awarded the Rising Star prize at the Women 3.0 Awards.
