The start of 2026 was marked by a “train of storms” that swept Portugal from January through early March, making life difficult for surfers in Ericeira; even during the rare weather breaks of that period — or later on —, a rare succession of powerful swells kept the windows of opportunity narrow.
This Ericeira Raw Surf video, titled “Unleashing On Big Walls,” captured Coxos in a session that, although far from perfect, delivered some waves with real potential for surfers skilled enough to play long, vibrant-necked guitars.
The soundtrack in this cold-water arena was heavy, fast, and slightly distorted, driving those in the lineup toward bold maneuvers, uncontrolled wipeouts, and barrels that demanded crossing critical sections — leaving only one possible approach: total commitment.
