The Finals Day at the EDP Ericeira Pro turned Ribeira d’Ilhas into the stage for an emotion-filled competitive marathon. This video compiles some of the best moments from the journey that ended the Portuguese stop of the World Surf League’s Challenger Series with a golden key.
The winners were the north american Crosby Colapinto and the costa rican Brisa Hennessy.
the feminine decision had the most emotional outcome
Hennessy was in fourth place as the final minutes approached, but she managed to score a wave (awarded with 7,50 points) that allowed her to take the lead in the heat. The victory propelled her 20 spots up the rankings, moving her into the qualification zone for the 2027 Championship Tour.
There are also reasons of pride for national surfing: Francisca Veselko and Teresa Bonvalot remain among those in a qualifying position for the 2027 Championship Tour, with one final Challenger Series stop still to come in March, on Australia.
