On April 16, BlueOASIS will hold a workshop at the Ericeira Business Factory on wave modeling at the Ericeira World Surfing Reserve – EWSR – , a project developed in collaboration with NTNU (Norwegian University of Science and Technology) and the EEAGrants.

As a result of this partnership, the REEF3D tool was applied in the Reserve to model surfing waves, aiming for better forecast. In this workshop, the local surfing community will come together for the presentation of the results obtained, where some moments of open discussion can be expected for feedback exchange and establishment of partnerships for future projects where this theme can continue to be explored.

participants will gain a deeper understanding of the project and its potential implications

Starting at 9:15 am, attendees will be welcomed, followed by the official opening by EEAGrants Portugal at 9:30 am. The event will provide a unique opportunity for participants to learn more about the collaboration between blueOASIS and NTNU, responsible for applying the REEF3D tool in the Reserve for surf wave modeling.

With a detailed presentation scheduled for 9:45 am, followed by an overview of REEF3D at 10:15 am, participants will gain a deeper understanding of the project and its potential implications.

The program includes the presentation of the obtained results, with an open discussion from 11 to 12 o’clock, followed by a view on the project’s future prospects until lunchtime.

BlueOASIS’s mission is to support ocean sustainability progress by promoting the development of innovative solutions in Offshore Renewable Energy, Oceanic and Maritime Sustainability, using modern approaches from Industry 4.0 in an open and collaborative manner.

The project seeks to catalyze transformative technologies to combat marine pollution and climate change, encouraging innovative scientific research and industrial applications.

This event is a crucial opportunity for those interested in the development of the Reserve and the improvement of surfing forecast. The sign-up and more information can be found on the project’s official website.
