The ambassador of Portuguese surf and worldly renowned surfer for descending the biggest wave ever in praia do Norte, Nazaré, Garrett McNamara, was seen surfing in Coxos last weekend.
We don’t know the exact reasons for his visit to Ericeira, but it is known that “GMAC” is shooting a promotional documentary on Portuguese waves for Turismo de Portugal.
The photographer Nuno Dinis, whom collaborated with AZUL in the series “The Town” e “The Country“, captured some moments of McNamara’s passing through Ericeira and told us a bit about the session.
I got to Coxos around 8am and saw Garrett [McNamara] dressing up for the sea while followed by three or four people. After a while he was alone in the water while the remaining crew stood outside shooting discreetly. The waves weren’t perfect, but were still very good with at least 2 metres, maybe more on sets. He surfed a couple of hours and I didn’t notice any reaction from the people watching. Around 10am he left Coxos as it was packed with surfers.
