Tom Morey, the creator of Bodyboarding, was born on August 15th, 1935, and died this year, on October 14th. On the 6th of this month, a Global Paddle Out was held as a tribute to the creator of the iconic Morey Boogie boards.
Naturally, Ericeira joined this event, in an initiative promoted by Ericeira Surf Clube.
In this spirit, we publish this image, which portrays the waterman João Brogueira (bodyboarding, longboarding, bodysurfing…) in a well-known Ericeira’s slab – in the lower right corner there is a dedication written by Tom Morey, in which he addresses to the athlete best known as ‘Ferro'(=Iron) in quite laudatory terms.
