October 14, 2011. A day in which Ericeira joined the history of world surfing by becoming a World Surfing Reserve. The second in the whole world by that time and still Europe’s only region with the Save The Waves Coalition distinction.
Praia da Empa – Pedra Branca e Reef –, Ribeira d’Ilhas, Cave, Crazy Left, Coxos e praia de S. Lourenço. A precious line of coast with more than 5 miles that became protected so to perpetuate the joy on such aquatic relics, only designed by the moods of mother nature.
Today this remark celebrates three years since it was official sworned in a ceremony that took place in October 2011. An encounter that reunited people of the sea, local surfers and foreign visitors in Ribeira d’Ilhas and which we know recall on this week’s video.
