Oceano Azul Foundation celebrated Earth Day under the motto “The Ocean is our Earth” and Ericeira Surf Clube was one of the organizations that joined this initiative, promoting a beach cleaning and an inclusion surfing class in Ribeira d’Ilhas.
About 17 kg of garbage were collected, in an initiative sponsored by the athlete Filipa Broeiro, European and National Bodyboard Champion in 2022, and which had the help of students from the Training School, APERCIM patients and several members of the community.
As a member of the Restricted Council and Guardian of the Ericeira World Surfing Reserve, this type of initiative is part of the mission of Ericeira Surf Clube, being an integral part of the Ocean Literacy programme, centered on the practice of Surfing and Environmental Education.
