The Ericeira March took to the streets on the eve of Santo António, parading through the village with a small number of participants (6 marchers with 3 arches for each pair and four musicians from the Ericeira’s Cultural Philharmonic), in order to meet the limitations of gatherings and respect the necessary social distance in this pandemic period.
The “Ericeira à Janela” march was widely applauded, both by passers-by and customers sitting outside places, and by people who, being at home, came to watch the windows or balconies so they could have a “smell” of the typical popular festivals of June, this year prohibited due to the sanitary situation.
The march repeated its course through the centre of Ericeira on the night of São João, with other marchers, other costumes and other arches.
