Following the certification of the Municipality of Mafra as a Sustainable Tourist Destination, Ericeira Camping was recognized as “Biosphere Certified”, being the only campsite in Portugal with this international distinction.
This certification was awarded by Instituto de Turismo Sustentável, after Ericeira Camping has successfully demonstrated the fulfillment of actions aligned with the 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) of the United Nations Agenda for 2030, involving employees in a common project and being positively aprecciated by its customers.
This tourism sustainability certification was created with the aim of supporting entities in reducing the negative impacts of the development of their activity, ensuring an adequate balance between the economic, sociocultural and environmental aspects.
