In order to celebrate Mafra’s organ heritage, the City Council organizes the 6th edition of the Mafra International Organ Festival, which started in Ericeira.
Between the 21st of April and the 7th of May there will be concerts in the Basilica of the Mafra National Palace and in several churches in the municipality.

Portuguese organists of different generations are joined by highly prestigious international artists, such as Quentin du Verdier, Andreas Liebig, Luca Scandali or Roman Perucki, protagonists of the concerts that take place in the Basilica of Mafra National Palace and in the Churches of S. Pedro (Ericeira), Nossa Senhora do Livramento, Santo Isidoro, Nossa Senhora da Assunção, Enxara do Bispo, Nossa Senhora da Encarnação, Santo André (Mafra) and the Chapel of Nossa Senhora do Monte Carmo, in Venda do Pinheiro.
Mafra International Organ Festival is organized by the Mafra City Council, with the support of the Mafra National Palace and Vicariate of Mafra. The artistic direction is by João Vaz, who this year pays a heartfelt tribute to the composer Johann Sebastian Bach, the greatest figure of international organ culture, integrating works of his composition in the repertoire of each of the concerts
Attendance at the shows is free, with the exception of the last concert, to be held at the Basilica of the National Palace of Mafra, which requires an entrance fee, with tickets on sale at the counter of the National Palace of Mafra.
