Supa Squad and Popcaan (pictured above) are the latest acts confirmed for the sixth edition of the Sumol Summer Fest, which takes place at the Ericeira Camping from the 26th to the 28th of June.

These are artists within the dancehall genre, bringing eclecticism to the event that still holds reggae as the basis for the performances, but this year will also have hip hop and a area dedicated to dub.

Supa Squad are Zacky Man and Mr. Marley, singers, songwriters and producers of dancehall music from Cape Verde. In 2012 they released their first single, “Babylon is Falling”, which accounted for thousands of views on YouTube. The rise of these two cousins in the reggae-dancehall universe achieved a new level when they were invited to write lyrics to several jamaican songs produced by Stephen “Di Genius” McGregor, Russian e Don Corleone. They will perform on the 27th of June, the day when Bomba Estéreo, Ky-Mani Marley, Protoje and John Butler Trio are the other confirmed acts.

Popcaan is a well-established DJ from Kingston, Jamaica, who already performed in several european festivals, in countries such as France, Germany, Holland and Switzerland. The jamaican performs on the 28th of June, alongside Anthony B, Lutan Fyah, Perfect Giddimani, D8 and Cidade Negra.

The tickets are already on sale for 65€ (2 days, with camping), 50€ (2 days, no camping) e 40€ (1-day ticket).

Sumol Summer Fest, the main music event in Ericeira, won the 2013 award for Best Medium Sized Festival at the Portugal Festival Awards.
