Manzwine, a wine producer with roots in the Mafra region, recently announced the launch of a label design contest for its new project: Vinho Jagoz – Jagoz Wine. This product aims to pay tribute to the soul, history, and culture of Ericeira, reflecting the essence of the “people of the sea” who define its identity.
The contest, open until February 28th, is exclusively for artists born or residing in Ericeira. Participants may submit up to two label proposals, which shall capture the deep connection between the town, the sea, and the Jagoz spirit.
the winning label will be revealed in May
“Jagoz is more than just a wine; it’s a symbol of Ericeira and its people”, says André Manz, founder of ManzWine. “We want this project to engage the local community, celebrating the talent of our artists and the culture that makes Ericeira a unique place”.
To participate, applicants must submit their proposals through a landing page available at ManzWine’s official website, providing proof of eligibility with an identity document or a proof of residence.
Submissions will be evaluated by a jury composed of representatives from the Ericeira Parish Council, Mafra City Hall, and ManzWine itself. The top 10 label designs will be exhibited throughout March on Rua Dr. Eduardo Burnay and at ManzWine’s website. The public will be able to vote for their favorite designs through a QR code system, with this vote accounting for 20% of the final decision.
The winning label will be revealed in May at a special event featuring institutional guests and the local community.
Vinho Jagoz will be made exclusively from indigenous Portuguese grape varieties, with the collaboration of local restaurant professionals. In addition to honoring Ericeira’s traditions, this wine reinforces ManzWine’s commitment to boosting the regional economy and valuing its economic agents.
ManzWine is built on values of quality, recovery, and revitalization. The rich history of the past, which captivated the company and led it to see the region in a special way, inspired the projection of everything that had been done and everything that had been learned over time into its wines.
