On March 10th Mafra Jazz Music Cycle began, a municipal initiative that presents bands and groups dedicated to this musical genre at the Auditorium of Casa da Música Francisco Alves Gato.
After the debut of the Sugartown Trio, on the 14th of April, at 21:30, a trio composed of three excellent musicians who share their experiences in making simple and spontaneous music will take the stage: Luís Lélis (who gave his name to the trio) on the piano, Gonçalo Naia on the contrabass and António Carvalho on the drums.
Luís Lélis and Guillande will star in the next concerts
Starting from the standards of North American music, and with enormous respect for its tradition, this set embarks on a group search for interaction, lyricism and honesty.
On May 12th, also at 21:30, it will be time to open the doors to Guillande: with Orlanda Guillande’s voice, piano by Vitor Zamora, bass and contrabass by Leo Spinoza and percussion by Sebastian Scheriff – this quartet delivers soul and heart in each show, showing a unique passion and feeling that mixes fado, gospel and soul music.
The tickets to attend these concerts are available at the Tourist Offices in Mafra and Ericeira, on Ticketline and also at the venue where the shows take place, one hour before they start.
Tickets cost 3 euros for residents and everyone under 23 and 5 euros for the general public. Additional information can be obtained by calling +351 261 818 347.
