Ericeira Business Factory (EBF), a business incubator opened in 2014 in the building where the town’s Primary School used to be, was recently featured by the renowned Monocle.
This British publication has edited The Monocle Book of Entrepreneurs, which includes several inspiring stories of entrepreneurial projects in various fields and with shapes and sizes to suit all tastes.
This is a coffee table book (with the following dimensions: 24cm x 19.5cm x 2.5cm) ideal for anyone planning a change of life, starting a new business or boosting an existing business project.
“It can be difficult to get a job for life, but what if we think first about a vocation that can help you live well?”
This is the (optimistic) starting point of The Monocle Book of Entrepreneurs, a handbook designed to encourage, inspire and perhaps even spur its readers to delve into themselves and start something on behalf of an independent and brighter future.
Throughout its 204 pages you can find cases of 100 successful companies – among which some have their offices at EBF or Ericeira –, ideas on where to set up their business and advice from more than 50 experts on essential issues for would-be entrepreneurs, from finding financing to medium-term expansion.
Here are ideas and opportunities for everyone, from the beginner with a dream to experienced entrepreneurs who are already thinking about their next investment.
This is not a guide on the best way to get rich quick, but a manual for anyone interested in building something creative, serious and hard-working.
As shared on Mafra & Ericeira Business Factory’s Facebook profile, “during these unprecedented times of change, there was no area more dynamic than business and a lot has changed in the way we work.” The Monocle Book of Entrepreneurs turns out to be a reflection – and simultaneously a lever – of these profound and sudden changes that the Covid-19 pandemic brought to the world of work and business.
Just before the beginning of this year’s Summer, Ericeira (and EBF) had already been featured by the English magazine The Entrepeneurs, in an article entitled “All is Swell”, written by Gaia Lutz in this publication produced by the editors of Monocle and which carries news about entrepreneurship. To a large extent, this journalistic piece, which we had talked about at AZUL, served as the basis for the content of the pages dedicated to Ericeira in The Monocle Book of Entrepreneurs.
