Young bodyboarders from all over Portugal can prove themselves at the 1st stage of the National Bodyboard Esperanças Circuit by NATIVE AÇAÍ this weekend.
Praia da Empa will hopefully deliver the right conditions on May 16th and 17th to provide a high-level competition. This is one of the most emblematic areas of the Ericeira World Surfing Reserve and an iconic setting for national bodyboarding.
national titles at stake
On the Pedra Branca, Backdoor, and Reef spots the younger generation will compete in the categories Under-12, Under-14, Under-14 Women, Under-16, Under-18, and Under-18 Women. The participants will be awarded national titles at the end.
Organised by Ericeira Surf Clube and the Portuguese Surfing Federation, ESC president Miguel Barata de Almeida says it “represents the ESC’s continued commitment to young local talent and to the future of the sport, while also continuing the work developed within the Ericeira Bodyboarding Circuit and the support we have been receiving from the various involved entities.”
