For three days, 72 hours more precisely, the eyes of the portuguese surfers were looking at Ericeira. The World Surfing Reserve hosted the Allianz Ericeira Pro, the second stage of the Liga Moche, the Surfing National Circuit, last weekend and it initiated the season of major surfing competitions in the town.

Although the conditions were not the best, the quality of the performances ended surpassing the quality of the waves in the Ribeira d’Ilhas Beach. The exciting performances by Tomás Fernandes and Gony Zubizarreta (ranked third), Ana Sarmento (ranked fourth) and Carina Duarte (winner of the women’s category stage), athletes from Ericeira, did not dissapoint the expectations from the local supporters who were present at the beach.

The Liga Moche heads now north to Oporto for the third stage of the circuit, taking place on the 9th and 10th of May.
