With the arrival of the ASP convoy for the Moche Rip Curl Pro Portugal, in Peniche, Ericeira looked forward to receiving some of the world’s best surfers for freesurf sessions. And it didn’t take long to find the first foreign crew exploring one of the village’s most emblematic waves: Coxos.
Even before last week’s lousy weather, Aritz Aranburu, Sebastian Zietz, the Tanner brothers, Pat Gudauskas and the portuguese surfer Ruben Gonzalez were present in some of the surfing action that took place there. Something like a preliminary session before the tough competition ahead.
Hélder White captured these moments which prove, once more, the high quality of Ericeira’s waves, a distinguished region of the surfing map in Portugal.
Further incursions by the world surfing elite are expected through Ericeira this week. The forecasts are promising and we shall pay close attention to the movements upon our shore.
