It was on October 14, 2011, that Ericeira became the second World Surfing Reserve in the world and the first in Europe, a consecration with the seal of the international organization Save the Waves Coalition.
It’s been 11 years full of remarkable events, in waves that regularly call for the best athletes in the world, as well as aspiring surfers who visit us to have their first contact with these sports and lifestyle.
This week we remember the date on which there was a promise to protect this unique ecosystem with the images of the dedication ceremony of the Reserve, in which many important and anonymous faces came together in a symbolic gesture carried out at sea.
