Over 230.000 tourists have resorted to the tourism stations in Lisbon’s Region for informations in August, which represents an increase by 40% regarding the visits made in a similar time frame last year (160.000).
From the tourists and visitors that headed to such stations in Lisbon, Sintra, Ericeira, Estoril and Cascais, the ones that stood out were those coming from Spain (20%) and France (19%), followed by visitors from Italy, Brazil, the UK and Germany.
The Tourism of Lisbon Institute manages a network of 13 information points directed to tourists and visitors, placed in strategic locations of each area. In all of them, specialised technicians provide informations about the available offers and suggest activities lined with each individual’s interests. This network answered to 999.499 visitors in 2012.
