Things are getting serious again on Ericeira’s waves. The Billabong Ericeira 2025 Circuit by Native Açaí, a nationally relevant competition, returns next weekend, May 1st to 3rd.
In addition to prize money and trophies, the top finishers secure a place at the Ericeira Surf Clube Invitational, a one-day competition for the club’s best surfers and bodyboarders. The event was originally scheduled to take place at the beginning of the year, but had to be cancelled due to the severe storms.

At the circuit, particular attention will be paid to the title defenders of 2025 Gabriel Ribeiro (Open), Felipe Teixeira (Masters), Matilde Pinto (Women), António Lucas (U18) und Mariana Pereira (U18 Women).
The categories remain the same, and registration for participants is open until the end of this day, May 28. This promise strong participation, especially among local surfers.
Miguel Barata de Almeida, president of the Ericeira Surf Clube, is looking forward to the event this weekend: “We are back and super excited for another great circuit, with good waves, lots of healthy competition among our athletes, and prizes to match!”
With the competitive spirit already guaranteed, it remains to be seen whether the competition will be held at Praia de Ribeira d’Ilhas or at Praia da Empa.
