Absent from the picture, behind the photographer, there is a suggestion of the most imposing architectural ensemble of Mafra, which includes the Convent, the Basilica and the National Palace.
This is Terreiro D. João V – a meeting point, a place to visit and to learn – in front of the grand monument, showing its vastness and opening up to the eyes of those who view it from ground level.
