Manzwine is a project fueled by a deep passion for the land and the history of Cheleiros, where the restoration of heritage has been a continuous mission. With profound respect for the region’s past, the brand has revived traditions and breathed new life into the village by bringing back a rare and nearly extinct grape variety: Jampal.

Initially seen as a challenge by winemakers, this grape variety has become a symbol of resilience and innovation, proving that investing in something unique can yield remarkable results. Today, the brand is recognized as the only producer of Jampal in the world, establishing the region of Mafra as a premier wine destination.

Manzwine’s commitment goes beyond winemaking, extending to the rehabilitation of historic spaces that tell the story of the region. The restoration of the old olive press and the former primary school were key milestones on this journey, creating a bridge between past and present. As the project grew, the need to expand production led to the construction of a new winery, modern yet respectful of traditional lines. During this process, the rediscovery of historical artifacts (ranging from Neolithic remains to more recent tools) further enriched Manzwine’s path, transforming the space into a living museum of local culture.

Beyond wine, Manzwine invites visitors to enjoy unique experiences that blend adventure, gastronomy, and wine tourism. In the cozy Wine Lounge (housed in the former village school) you’ll find a selection of 15 labels produced in the regions of Cheleiros, Douro, and the Setúbal Peninsula – some of these wines are paired with authentic flavors at Pizzaria Funiculare. More than just a wine producer, Manzwine is a guardian of tradition and a storyteller, inviting everyone to raise a glass to the land’s authenticity.
