The 7th edition of Bloom Consulting Portugal City Brand Ranking analyzed the best Portuguese municipalities for “business”, for “visiting” and for “living” and the municipality of Mafra holds a prominent place in this ranking.

Bloom Consulting is a consultant specialized in “Country”, “Region” and “City” branding that analyzes and develops strategies, analysis and measurement tools for destinations around the world.

Every year the Bloom Consulting Country Brand Ranking is published in the Business and Tourism issues, with the aim of analyzing the brand performance of 225 countries and territories worldwide. At national level, 308 Portuguese municipalities are studied and the variables allow to extract classifications not only at national level, but also by region: Azores, Alentejo, Algarve, Centre, Lisbon, Madeira and North.

Mafra occupies the top 20 in the three ranking variables

In this edition, the municipality of Mafra held the 19th absolute place in the national ranking, having risen six positions in relation to the previous assessment. In each variable, Mafra holds different positions, with “Business” reaching 15th place and 20th place in “Visiting” and “Living”.

This study also features the municipalities that are awarded the “Star Brand” – a designation given to municipalities that manage to stand out in the various dimensions and regions of Portugal – and Mafra was distinguished with this award, in addition to other municipalities, such as Funchal , Viseu, Braga, Vila Nova de Gaia, Ribeira Grande, Olhão, Maia, Elvas, Caldas da Rainha and Ponta do Sol.

the municipality of Mafra was also distinguished as the ‘Star Brand’, showing resilience in the face of the pandemic year

The top of the national ranking belongs to the Portuguese capital. Lisbon continues to dominate the several aspects and has been considered, over the years, one of the most sought after European cities by investors, tourists and national and international talent, although the municipalities of Porto and Cascais have also obtained very good results and have maintained their rank positions – second and third place.
