Immerso, the first 5-star hotel in Ericeira, continues to receive accolades, and this time the recognition is international. The architectural project by Tiago Silva Dias won the BUILD Excellence award in Hospitality Architecture.

According to the architect, it’s never easy to understand the judges’ criteria, but in Immerso’s case, “the integration and relationship with the site where it is located, the views and the relationship with the surrounding landscape, marked by the valley in which it is set and the strong presence of the ocean, determined the exterior formal aspects of the ensemble” draw attention, at a time when” there is increased interest in architecture produced in Portugal.”

BUILD Awards aim to honor the best internationally in the fields of technical innovation, design, and services in the construction and real estate sectors

Inaugurated in 2022, the hotel stands out for the harmonious way it integrates into the surrounding landscape, the layout of the project across several buildings, and the way it plays with the views and solar orientation.

“In terms of architecture, Immerso stands out for the combination of the sustainability of the ensemble (through the adoption of a design based on constructive principles adapted to the local climatic conditions) and the connection to the place, which is expressed through the range of materials used, combining the ancestral legacy of the region with the contemporaneity imprinted in the design”, explains the award-winning architect.

The BUILD Awards aim to identify and honor the best internationally in the fields of technical innovation, design, and services in the construction and real estate sectors. To determine the results, BUILD magazine takes into consideration the commitment, experience, and innovation demonstrated by the nominees.

Offering a distinct experience from what exists in the area, Immerso brings a new hospitality proposal. Set in a valley, it combines four different accommodation areas, all embraced by the surrounding greenery. The ultimate luxury is the contact with nature. It has 37 rooms, two dining spaces with consulting from chef Alexandre Silva, a spa, a pool and bar, and an organic garden. The service is rigorous yet relaxed, making it feel like a peaceful refuge where one feels secure and everything is in its place.
