Ericeira to be vibrant with a lot of music this Summer

During the months of July and August, Ericeira becomes a vast stage of music and entertainment, promising to attract both residents and visitors.

From July to August 27, various artists perform in live concerts distributed between Parque de Santa Marta and Praça da República. To complement the Summer season, fado nights are also scheduled in different streets and corners of Ericeira, providing a distinctly Portuguese and memorable experience.

Ericeira becomes a stage of music and entertainment during the Summer

The amphitheater of Parque de Santa Marta will host tonight (July 24) a concert by the charismatic Rui Reininho, frontman of GNR, an undeniable reference in Portuguese pop/rock.

The legendary Bonga will bring the roots of Angolan music to the town on July 25, and only two days later, on July 27, the project Cais Sodré Funk Connection will perform with funk and soul music for dancing from the beginning to the end of the concert.

On July 28, the project On Every String will pay tribute to Dire Straits. On August 8, Tábua Rasa will take the stage with a theatrical concert, followed by Wajiros d’Lisboa and their Cuban music on August 22.

The next day, August 23, the project Ericeira Bowie Jorge Vadio & The Starmen will enliven the night with a tribute to David Bowie. On August 24, traditional Portuguese music will take over the stage with Bandidos do Cante, followed by the soul, funk, and pop of Groovy Mary on August 29. To close the month, on August 31, the project Phil Collins Legacy Tribute.

All concerts held at Parque de Santa Marta begin at 10 PM.

Fado will fill up the streets of Ericeira with various concerts

But the Summer entertainment doesn’t stop there. Praça da República (or ‘Jogo da Bola’) will also be one of the epicenters of music, starting on August 1 with Cottas Club Jazz Band, Projecto Bug on August 2, and Teias d’Aranha on August 3. These three concerts also start at 10 PM.

On August 10, at 3:30 PM, Rancho Folclórico Cantarinhas de Barro will enliven the afternoon, followed by Rancho Folclórico da Murgeira at 5 PM on the same day.

On August 15, Rancho Folclórico São Miguel do Milharado will take the stage at 3:30 PM. Closing the entertainment at ‘Jogo da Bola’, on August 17, Grupo Cultural de Danças e Cantares de São Miguel de Alcaínça and Rancho Folclórico de Monte Godel will cheer the afternoon up at 3:30 PM and 5 PM, respectively.

During these two months, every Tuesday at 10 PM, fado will fill up the streets of Ericeira with various concerts. On July 23, the project Fado Inverso will perform at Largo do Pelourinho, followed by the performance of Ar de Fado at Furnas on July 30. On August 6, Prata da Casa da Prata will perform at Fonte do Casino; D’Anto will spread the emotion of the Coimbra fado at the Porto de Pesca on August 20. The final concert, performed by Casa de Fados, will be held on August 27 at Largo de Santa Marta.
