Ericeira is one of Europe’s coolest villages

Ericeira is one of the ten coolest places in Europe according to Budget Travel, a New York’s publication specialised in promoting touristic destinations.

The editors of the publication travelled and lived the experiences of the locations included on the list and highlight these special places as and example that European small villages and also provide “divinal” experience.

The facades of tiles lining the houses’ walls, streets quilted with the Portuguese sidewalk square stones and the cliffs leading to the white sanded beaches are pointed out as some of the qualities of Ericeira. Budget Travel also underlines the waves and surfing spots as well as the shellfish restaurants.

Bibury (England), Palmanova (Italy), Cesky Krumlov (Czech Republic), Rothenburg ob der Tauber (Germany), Durnstein (Austria), Binn (Switzerland), Tremolat (France), Tenby (Wales) and Vestmannaeyjar (Iceland) were the remaining places elected by the publication.
