Recently, the French newspaper Les Echos – a historical daily that offers complete and in-depth coverage, with current topics, great research and podcasts – published an article with the topic “10 good destinations for remote working” and Ericeira appears in fourth place on this list.
Called digital nomads or simply teleworkers, many leave their cities and their usual routine to work from different places and in front of new landscapes. Accelerated by the pandemic, this phenomenon has become increasingly attractive and numerous cities have been multiplying strategies and initiatives to encourage the target audience.
Portugal seems to be winning the race for teleworkers with distinction, but more exotic destinations like Thailand or more surprising destinations like Austin (in Texas, USA) are not far behind.
Ericeira brings a burst of happiness to its population
Described in the article as a Portuguese fishing village, where fishermen’s huts coexist with bars and modern establishments, Ericeira brings a burst of happiness to its population, making the most of the fusion between its Portuguese heritage, its typical white houses and the fact of being considered the only World Surfing Reserve in Europe.
Lisbon, Madeira and Porto (Portugal), Cape Town (South Africa), Buenos Aires (Argentina), Tenerife (Spain), Canggu (Indonesia), Ko Pha Ngan (Thailand) and Austin (United States of America) appear side by side with the small village “where the sea is bluer” as other good destinations for digital nomads.
Recall that, recently, Ericeira was considered the fourth best destination for digital nomads by the website OutandBeyond.
