Ericeira is a place for lovers of simple things
Ericeira is a place for the lovers of the simple things.
What do you love the most and like the least about Ericeira?
I love the nature, the sea, the beaches, the small streets and the stories behind its locals. I don’t like the little parking space during the summer.
What are your favourite places?
I love to walk around Ribas, from Praia dos Pescadores to Ribeira d’Ilhas. I’m in love with Travessa das Gaivotas. Ericeira is beautiful, from sunup to sundown, whether it’s summer or winter, it has its charm. In the morning, “Jogo da Bola” is empty and you can smell the fresh bread in the air. I like to have lunch on a terrace or at the Naval Club, which always has today’s specials. I love to see the sunset on the cliffs, with good wine and good music. The night is special at Adega Bar, with people from here and other parts of the world, full of curiosity for this place. I always recommend that you try new places and Ay Mamita! is one of them: a restaurant with South American flavors and very good energy.
I like the identity of this small space, full of stories of love and struggle
What are your main concerns for the present and future of Ericeira?
I think it is very important to respect the culture and history of this place. I was not born or raised here, but I like the identity of this small space, but full of stories of love and struggle.
Do you know what it is to be Jagoz?
It’s to be born and raised in Ericeira, right?! Just watch the fishermen in the morning in Ribas or playing chess and cards in the afternoon by the Fort. This is being Jagoz.
