Ana Agostinho has a significant path in the arts, both in creation and in teaching: she was a collaborator of the master Duran Castaibert, taught and gave lecturings in Portugal. In her works, she has mainly explored the watercolor and chinese ink, in themes based mostly around the human figure. Ericeira made her notice the “complexity, strength and subtleties” of surfing, which she considers that is a part of the identity of this place that also became hers. An urge leads her into “capturing the moviment, the strength and the color that surfing transmits.” There have been many experiences, from sketches to graphite, and through the pursuit of color in watercolor and the definition of the power and the movement through markers and chinese ink. Some of Ana’s works can be observed in this virtual gallery. Other creations are available as well in her website, facebook and online store. Also promised is the possibility of appreciating her work in Ericeira soon, where she wishes to start a drawing and painting course: “Above all I want my students to have fun learning the different techniques”, she mentions, before explaining that the strong theoretical background will be diluted in the experimentation of the practical sessions, where anyone can develop their own works in their favorite techniques. The course will end in a collective exhibition, as in her perspective the artistic vision of every person can be worked and guided.
