Projects are underway with the goal of increasing services and improving the space of the Tapada Nacional de Mafra.
It is possible to consult the objects of the contract and the respective investment (with a global investment of 180,077.15 euros) in the following list:
- Acquisition of three observation platforms: 4,912.15 euros;
- Acquisition of 120 cm bamboo plant protectors and tutors, intended for the protection of plants in afforestation operations: 6,950 euros;
- Acquisition of services to carry out tree climbing activities at Tapada Nacional de Mafra (465 days): 15,500 euros;
- Acquisition of two electric cargo utility vehicles: 17,980 euros;
- Acquisition of services for the Operational Management and Reservations of Local Accommodation in Tapada Nacional de Mafra (365 days): 19,990 euros;
- Acquisition of bird of prey demonstration services for environmental education activities (365 days): 40,000 euros;
- Acquisition of a backhoe loader: 74,745 euros.
Tapada Nacional de Mafra is an autochthonous forest that covers a total area of 833 hectares and has been listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site, along with the Royal Building of Mafra (National Palace of Mafra, Basilica, Convent and Jardim do Cerco) since July 7, 2019.
Tapada Nacional de Mafra’s mission is to “ensure the full compliance with the goals of the cooperative, in the promotion of research and preservation of fauna and flora, environmental education, hunting activity and the provision of rural tourism services”.
