Ky-Mani Marley and John Butler Trio are the first confirmed artists for the sixth edition of Sumol Summer Fest, which will take place at the Ericeira Camping Park from the 26th to the 28th of June.
Ky-Mani Marley, one of the sons of reggae legend Bob Marley, is a well-known reggae and hip-hop artist from Jamaica. His latest album – “Evolution of a Revolution” – was released last year, and so naturally Ky-Mani Marley should take advantage of his presence in Ericeira to showcase his latest songs.
The John Butler Trio, the australian group led by multi-instrumentalist John Butler, presents a very roots-oriented sonority and has built a solid reputation largely due to their live performance. The band is all set to release a new album on the 7th of February, titled “Fresh Blood”.
Both artists will perform in Ericeira on the 27th of June. The festival starts on the 26th of June, when the Welcome Party takes place. The tickets are already on sale, and until the 28th of February who chooses to purchase the two-days pass will have an immediate discount of 10€. This pass is priced at 55€ (with camping included) or 40€ (without camping).
Sumol Summer Fest, the biggest current music event in Ericeira, has won the award for Best Medium-sized Music Festival in 2013, a honor granted by the Portugal Festival Awards.
