Ericeira is among the 25 most beautiful towns in Portugal, according to the Spanish site of El País. In an article published this month in the El Viajero section, a travel guide of this reference newspaper of our neighboring country, the village is represented by an image of the emblematic fountain of North Street, photographed by Van der Meer Rene.
El Pais featured Ericeira as a land of fishermen that keeps its maritime roots as well as its chapels dedicated to the patron saint of fishermen – Our Lady of Good Voyage -, the white and blue houses and the restaurants where you can taste the best local seafood.
Other Portuguese destinations distinguished in that article, whose original version can be found here, were Vila Franca do Campo, Óbidos, Sintra, Lajes do Pico, Monsanto, Ponte de Lima, Sortelha, Tavira and Belmonte.
