Ericeira is my land
Ericeira is the land of those i love the most, the land of those i will never forget, it is my home.
What do you love the most and like the least about Ericeira?
What i love the most are our people and our sea. What i like the least at the moment are so many things that i am even afraid of listing them so i don’t forget any – they wanted everything and someday day they’ll have nothing.
Quality tourism comes to Ericeira for the quality and identity of the village
What are your main concerns in the present and for the future of Ericeira?
My main concern is, without a shadow of a doubt, the boundless growth that is happening both in construction and in trade – we will pay this expensive bill. The quality tourism that comes to Ericeira comes for the quality and identity of the village and this is being lost everyday.

What does it mean to be Jagoz?
There are no people like us. I don’t need to be told who’s from Ericeira, we all know who we are, it’s in our blood, in our way of talking, in our way of being: that’s us, we are like this, we were born and we will die like this, we are jagozes.
Do you consider yourself Jagoz?
Son of Egídio, grandson of Zé da Faustina and Fernando Barbeiro… What else could I be?
