In order to publicise rod fishing and promoting its sustainable practice, the City Council has made available, free of charge, the Fishing Guide for the Municipality of Mafra.
The publication, which can be found at the tourist points in Mafra and Ericeira or in digital format, is a consultation tool, referring to some of the existing fisheries and addressing several topics such as the characterisation of fisheries, environmental sustainability, safety standards and aspects necessary for the practice of this modality.

Due to the natural conditions of its coastline, the municipality of Mafra and, more specifically, the region of Ericeira has assumed itself as a privileged location for fishing with rods, and the diversity of fishing locations and the different existing natural habitats allow the practice of the modality by fishermen of all levels, from beginners to the most experienced.
