Between November 25, 2022, and January 6, 2023, the villages of Mafra and Ericeira will light up to receive the now traditional initiative “Christmas Arrived at the Village” (“O Natal Chegou à Vila”), with official opening scheduled for Friday, at 18:30 in Mafra and 19:30 in Ericeira.

Christmas is just a month away and it is in this context that the two villages are beginning to fill up with Christmas spirit, celebrating this festive season with a Christmas Market, a Carousel, Santa Claus and other initiatives that will enliven days and nights until next year’s Twelfth Night.

The Carrousel will be operating at Terreiro D. João V, in Mafra, while the Christmas Market will be set up both at Terreiro D. João V and at Praça da República, better known as “Jogo da Bola”, in Ericeira.

These two attractions will be available between November 26 and December 24, from Sunday to Thursday from 10 am to 8 pm and Friday and Saturday from 10 am to 10 pm, as well as on the eve of public holidays on November 30 and December 7, with the exception of November 25 and December 24, whose opening hours will be from 4 pm to 10 pm and from 10 am to 3 pm, respectively.

As for the appearances of the bearded old man, mostly awaited by children, they are distributed as follows: in Mafra on Saturdays, Sundays and holidays between 4:30 pm and 6:30 pm; in Ericeira Santa Claus will be present on Saturdays between 2:30 pm and 3:30 pm.
