The Brazilian website UOL Economia recently launched an article naming the 10 best places to work while traveling… and Ericeira is one of the selected.

The town of the urchins is part of the restricted group of Portuguese destinations, alongside Madeira and Lagos. Here, several factors are evaluated, such as the monthly cost of living (3,646 US dollars – around 3,344 euros) or the average internet speed – 100 Mbps –, something always essential for digital nomads.

a very safe town where it is easy to create new ties and new businesses

This piece also offers some light on the pros and cons found in the destinations considered more attractive. For the Brazilian website, Ericeira is a very safe town with low crime, a place where it is easy to create new ties, as well as new businesses, and where there are countless leisure options. Some examples presented are sports such as surfing, tennis, bodyboarding and many others, or even a simple trip to the beach during the warm months.

As for the cons, according to UOL Economia, Ericeira “is expensive, cold in winter and the hospitals are bad.”

Another point mentioned in this article is of a bureaucratic nature. According to the website, although Portugal has closed its program for digital nomads, it is still feasible to reside and work in the country through the D7 visa, also known in Brazil as a “passive income” visa.

Other international destinations are also mentioned in this article: Ko Pha Ngan and Bangkok, in Thailand, Florianópolis, in Brazil, Ubud, in Indonesia, Berlin, in Germany, Mexico City (Mexico) and Austin, in the United States of America.
