Portugal was elected the best european destination by the north american travel website by the daily newspaper USA Today, 10.best<\/a>.<\/p>\n

“Portugal is not as iconic as other better known countries, but it offers a diversity of opportunities to travelers: charming villages, wonderful food, fascinating regional music, cultural opportunities, a beautiful coast and, even, world-class surfing”, it reads in the website’s description.<\/p>\n

Right behind Portugal came Italy and Austria, respectively ranked at 2nd and 3rd places, and Germany on the fourth position. The United Kingdom (5th), Spain (6th), Ireland (7th), France (8th), Iceland (9th) and Switzerland (10th) complete the website’s top 10 ranking.<\/p>\n

“The biggest surprise was Iceland, which has beaten Greece, Norway and several other more exotic countries at the top 10”, it is mentioned.<\/p>\n

Belgium, Croatia, Czech Republic, Greece, Hungary, Montenegro, Holland, Norway, Sweden and Turkey were also among the nominees.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
