The Lusa Agency recently reported that Mafra is one of the municipalities without homeless cases, though it is willing to help combat the phenomenon in Greater Lisbon with \u201cwhatever is necessary and obviously useful to resolve this situation,\u201d explained Aldevina Rodrigues, the vice-president of the municipality.<\/p>\n

In the context of fighting the issue of homelessness, municipalities have faced various challenges reflecting different local realities. Mafra is an example of a municipality that currently has no recorded homeless cases but shows a supportive and collaborative perspective with other municipalities in the Lisbon Metropolitan Area (AML).<\/p>\n

this positive result is attributed to the quick and efficient action of the municipal team<\/em><\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Mafra stands out for not having homeless cases, a rare situation in the AML. As Aldevina Rodrigues stated, \u201cAs of December 31, 2023, according to the national strategy for integrating homeless people, we had seven people in precarious housing situations, but as for actual homelessness, with people sleeping on the streets, there is currently no one.\u201d This positive result is attributed to the quick and efficient action of the municipal team, which is always ready to intervene when a homeless situation is identified.<\/p>\n

Although Mafra currently does not face homeless cases, the municipality recognizes the need for a united and coordinated approach among municipalities. The vice-president emphasized that \u201cthe problem of homelessness must concern everyone, and it is urgent to resolve the issue.\u201d This vision proves the importance of a collective response, in which all municipalities collaborate to find effective and sustainable solutions.<\/p>\n

Mafra’s willingness to collaborate with other municipalities is clear. The vice-president noted that \u201cMafra will be completely available to support whatever is necessary and obviously useful to resolve this situation.\u201d This supportive attitude is crucial in tackling a problem that, although not present in Mafra, significantly affects other regions of the AML.<\/p>\n
