On February 10th, at 4 p.m., the Ericeira Arts Center (Centro de Artes da Ericeira) will host a lecture by art historian and professor T\u00falia Maria Fino Rodrigues de Oliveira. The event, titled “Desvelando a Tela do Tempo” (Unveiling the Canvas of Time) promises to take participants on a journey through history, revealing the secrets and treasures within the walls of a historic house located at Pra\u00e7a da Rep\u00fablica (Jogo da Bola) No. 3, the current site of the Arts Center.<\/p>\n

T\u00falia de Oliveira’s presentation will highlight the legacy of this residence, built by the professor’s ancestors in 1896. Since its inception, the house has been a vibrant canvas for creative souls, with the notable family artist, Ant\u00f3nio Jorge Fino, leaving an indelible mark on its walls.<\/p>\n

the art gallery serves as a nexus where the traces of various individuals and communities intertwine<\/em><\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Successive owners, including T\u00falia de Oliveira’s brother, have continued this artistic legacy, contributing to the restoration of images, paintings and furniture. A crib, currently exhibited in the National Palace of Mafra, is particularly noteworthy.<\/p>\n

Over time, the house has evolved into a family haven for the descendants of the Fino family, hosting an antique shop, a charming tobacco shop and bookstore. However,\u00a0 in August 2023 north american artist Ron Logan conceived the idea of creating an art gallery within this timeless space, giving rise to the Ericeira Arts Center.<\/p>\n

With the rebirth of this unique house, T\u00falia Maria Fino Rodrigues de Oliveira actively collaborated with Ron Logan, sharing the enchanting story of her family.
