Photography:<\/strong> AZUL<\/p>\n <\/p>\n The typical celebrations in honor of S\u00e3o Sebasti\u00e3o and S\u00e3o Vicente (Saint Sebastian and Saint Vincent), popularly known as the “Festa dos B\u00eabados<\/a>” (Drunken Festivities), are about to begin.<\/p>\n From January 20 to 22, the locals, residents of Ericeira, expats and visitors will have the opportunity to participate in one of the most genuine celebrations in town, which takes place outdoors, challenging the whims of “General Winter,” whether in the form of cold or rain \u2013 although the weather forecasts for this year are quite favorable.<\/p>\n faith, tradition and a festive atmosphere come together into an unique celebration<\/em><\/p><\/blockquote>\n These festivities, blending the sacred and the profane, are a tradition that transcend temporal barriers, uniting older generations with the youth in an atmosphere of camaraderie that preserves a unique cultural identity. Between the Chapel of Saint Sebastian (Capela de S\u00e3o Sebasti\u00e3o) and the musical stage, an impressive wine barrel stands out.<\/p>\n The Parish of Ericeira presents a program that reflects all of this: January 20, dedicated to Saint Sebastian, will have festive masses at 12 pm and 7 pm at the Parish Church, with the presence of the venerated saint’s image. At 8:30 pm, unmarried and married men will have their own celebration with the “Dinner of Saint Sebastian.”<\/p>\n
