Photography:<\/strong>\u00a0Mauro Mota<\/p>\n <\/p>\n In an article published last week on Surf Europe’s website, Archi Jaeckin launches the debate about what’s Europe’s surfing Mecca, putting in direct confrontation Ericeira and Hossegor (France), which in the magazine’s opinion are the places worthy of the title.<\/p>\n Throughout the article is shown a set of arguments justifying the pick up of these two spots in a mission to find the one that stands out as Europe’s surfing capital.<\/p>\n For Surf Europe’s journalist, choosing between Ericeira and Hossegor is longterm debate, although Archi Jaeckin’s preference leans towards Ericeira, for its warmer water temperature and variety of reefs, which he states that are an advantage comparing with Hossegor’s beach breaks.<\/p>\n In the article are pointed out seven world class waves that made Ericeira a surfing heaven. The crown jewel is Coxos’ rights, but Pedra Branca, Cave and Crazy Left are also highlighted.<\/p>\n According to the writer, there are common denominators between Ericeira and Hossegor, namely the surfing passion of both villages and the surfing industry’s impact in these local communities, with obvious tourism growth, jobs and profits.
