Among the five selected destinations, Ribeira d\u2019Ilhas beach appears at the top, heading the list.<\/p>\n<p>According to the International Surfing Association (ISA), Portugal is among the 10 countries with the highest number of surfers, benefiting from around 900 kilometers of coastline offering waves throughout the year. Among the various Portuguese beaches that attract surfers, Ribeira d\u2019Ilhas stands out as one of the mandatory stops for national and international surfers.<\/p>\n<blockquote><p><em>the atmosphere in Ribeira d\u2019Ilhas is contagious<\/em><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>Ribeira d\u2019Ilhas is sought after by surfers from all over the world. Ericeira was recognized in 2011 as a World Surfing Reserve and this beach attracts surf enthusiasts of all ages and experience levels. Its reputation is due to the unique geological and geographical conditions, which allow surfing throughout the year.<\/p>\n<p>The waves at Ribeira d\u2019Ilhas offer an exciting challenge for surfers of different levels. The characteristics of the seafloor and the profile of the coast contribute to the formation of consistent and high quality waves.<\/p>\n<p>The atmosphere in Ribeira d\u2019Ilhas is contagious. All year round you can find surfers catching waves and improving their skills in the crystal clear waters of the Atlantic. Surrounded by imposing cliffs and stunning landscapes, the beach is a true postcard. Its clear waters and rugged coastline create a unique setting, providing moments of relaxation and connection with nature.<\/p>\n<p>The list drawn up by Sapo Viagens also includes beaches like North beach (Nazar\u00e9), Le\u00e7a da Palmeira, near Porto, Santa Cruz, in Torres Vedras, and Arrifana, near Aljezur.
