{"id":54304,"date":"2023-06-14T00:00:56","date_gmt":"2023-06-13T23:00:56","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.ericeiramag.pt\/?p=54304\/"},"modified":"2023-06-13T12:35:38","modified_gmt":"2023-06-13T11:35:38","slug":"family-from-ericeira-stars-in-journalistic-piece-dedicated-to-wyd","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.ericeiramag.pt\/en\/family-from-ericeira-stars-in-journalistic-piece-dedicated-to-wyd\/","title":{"rendered":"Family from Ericeira stars in a journalistic piece dedicated to WYD"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Photography:<\/strong> RR<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>The Rodrigues family, from Ericeira, starred in the television play \u201c<a href=\"https:\/\/www.rtp.pt\/noticias\/pais\/jornada-mundial-da-juventude-com-poucas-familias-de-acolhimento_v1488791\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Jornada Mundial da Juventude com poucas fam\u00edlias de acolhimento<\/a>\u201d (World Youth Day with few host families).<\/p>\n<p>Recently broadcast on RTP&#8217;s Telejornal (the news), it draws attention to the fact that the number of host families for World Youth Day is far below the desired level.<\/p>\n<blockquote><p><em>the parishes of Ericeira and Carvoeira hope to welcome 2,500 young people<\/em><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>\u201cThe church said once again that receiving young foreigners is a unique experience and that there are no security issues.\u201d Even so, the WYD organization would like more families to follow the example of these Jagozes.<\/p>\n<p>Gon\u00e7alo Rodrigues, a well-known <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ericeiramag.pt\/criadores-da-vila-azul-goncalo-rodrigues\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">local musician<\/a>, mentions they felt that, in addition to welcoming the young people, this moment represents an opportunity for the daughters and the whole family to get in touch with young people from other parts of the world.<\/p>\n<p>Diana and Gon\u00e7alo are the parents of four daughters and belong to the Parish of Ericeira, which hopes to welcome 2,500 young people together with the Parish of Carvoeira.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.ericeiramag.pt\/a-ericeira-pelos-olhos-de-padre-tiago-fonseca\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Father Tiago Fonseca<\/a> recalls that \u201cyoung people don&#8217;t come expecting a palace, they don&#8217;t come expecting fantastic conditions.
