{"id":53917,"date":"2023-05-16T00:00:10","date_gmt":"2023-05-15T23:00:10","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.ericeiramag.pt\/?p=53917\/"},"modified":"2023-05-12T15:59:18","modified_gmt":"2023-05-12T14:59:18","slug":"mafra-municipality-keeps-blue-flag-beaches-in-2023","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.ericeiramag.pt\/en\/mafra-municipality-keeps-blue-flag-beaches-in-2023\/","title":{"rendered":"Mafra municipality keeps Blue Flag beaches in 2023"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Photography:<\/strong> Jorge Matreno\/ANSurfistas<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>The list of \u00a0beaches, marinas and eco-tourist vessels that will be able to hoist the Blue Flag during the 2023 bathing season, which starts in June in Portugal, were recently announced.<\/p>\n<p>Just like last year, in 2023 the beaches in the Municipality of Mafra distinguished with this award are the following: Algodio (North Beach), Baleia (South Beach), Foz do Lizandro-Mar, Calada&#8217;s Port, Ribeira d&#8217;Ilhas and S\u00e3o Louren\u00e7o.<\/p>\n<blockquote><p><em>Portugal totals 432 Blue Flag beaches<\/em><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>This year the Blue Flag reaches 394 river and coastal beaches in Portugal, a total that has only one more beach than in 2022. In addition to the beaches, blue flags were awarded to 17 marinas and 21 vessels, making a total of 432 locations awarded.<\/p>\n<p>In full, 347 coastal beaches were awarded (four more than last year) and 47 in inland areas (three less). Although there has been a growing trend in 2022, the numbers do not reflect the same result this year, with more outs (12) than new entries (9), adding four re-entries: Boa Nova in the North, Infante in the Tagus , Carrapicho pools and beach, both in the Azores.<\/p>\n<p>Surprisingly, for the first time, the North of the country reveals a greater number of Blue Flag beaches (87) than the Algarve \u2013 85.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.ericeiramag.pt\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/01\/caminhada-praias-ericeira-caminhando-19.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-52657 colorbox-53917\" src=\"https:\/\/www.ericeiramag.pt\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/01\/caminhada-praias-ericeira-caminhando-19.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"1024\" height=\"768\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.ericeiramag.pt\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/01\/caminhada-praias-ericeira-caminhando-19.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/www.ericeiramag.pt\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/01\/caminhada-praias-ericeira-caminhando-19-300x225.jpg 300w, https:\/\/www.ericeiramag.pt\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/01\/caminhada-praias-ericeira-caminhando-19-768x576.jpg 768w, https:\/\/www.ericeiramag.pt\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/01\/caminhada-praias-ericeira-caminhando-19-600x450.jpg 600w, https:\/\/www.ericeiramag.pt\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/01\/caminhada-praias-ericeira-caminhando-19-773x580.jpg 773w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Altogether, there are 103 municipalities that will receive blue flags on their beaches, adding one in relation to the past year.
