Jagozes are said to be those who were born in the village of Ericeira, they are the \u201cpeople of the sea\u201d; those who were born outside the village are the \u201cland people\u201d, belonging to the saloia region, the saloios.<\/p>\n

In the summers in Ericeira, the usual morning fog is called by the fishermen as n\u00e9uva, but there is always someone in the village who says \u201cit\u2019s still going to open today\u201d, and usually around midday it dissipates, with a radiant sun showing up.<\/p>\n

You are from Ericeira!<\/em><\/p><\/blockquote>\n

For the fisherman, as for most jagozes, there are only two seasons: \u201cthe Ber\u00e3o<\/em> (Summer) and the Winter. it is Ber\u00e3o<\/em> from May to October, the Imberno<\/em> (Winter) makes up the remaining months\u201d.(*\u00aa)<\/p>\n

\u201cIf the sea seems to be less bibo<\/em> (alive), hope is reborn, in the next vaia-da-bom<\/em>, here they are on their way, on an adventure.\u201d(*\u00aa)<\/p>\n
