{"id":52856,"date":"2023-02-14T00:00:04","date_gmt":"2023-02-14T00:00:04","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.ericeiramag.pt\/?p=52856\/"},"modified":"2023-02-09T15:07:44","modified_gmt":"2023-02-09T15:07:44","slug":"marine-renewable-energy-sources-may-be-installed-in-ericeira","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.ericeiramag.pt\/en\/marine-renewable-energy-sources-may-be-installed-in-ericeira\/","title":{"rendered":"Marine renewable energy sources may be installed in Ericeira"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Photography:<\/strong> Andr\u00e9 Carvalho Samsung<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Since January 30 (and lasting until March 30), a public consultation has been open for the formulation of suggestions and collection of contributions for the creation of a preliminary proposal to install renewable energy sources of oceanic origin or location.<\/p>\n<p>The following quotation can be read in the document that opens the public consultation: \u201cDue to the characteristics of the Portuguese sea, which reaches great depths a few miles from the coast, associated with geographical areas where the wind and wave resources are more favorable, a set of areas where wind energy will be the source of electricity generation, from electrogenerators mounted under floating structures and anchored to the seabed or to fixed structures on the seabed where possible, complemented by electrogenerators actuated by wave energy.\u201d<\/p>\n<blockquote><p><em>in Ericeira, the project could cover an area of 256.84 km\u00b2 and an installable power of 0.8 GW<\/em><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>All the areas mentioned in the proposal guarantee the \u201cappropriate dimensions for commercial projects of renewable energy in the EMN\u201d and are located on the coasts of Viana do Castelo (expanding the already existing area), Leix\u00f5es, Figueira da Foz, Ericeira and Sintra-Cascais and Sines, which together will have the capacity to produce a power of 10 gigawatts.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.ericeiramag.pt\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/10\/20170911_181115-e1508773395598.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-28997 colorbox-52856\" src=\"https:\/\/www.ericeiramag.pt\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/10\/20170911_181115-e1508773395598.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"1050\" height=\"591\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>The zones mentioned above are located in \u201careas where estimates of wave energy resources are very variable\u201d, with special attention to the Leix\u00f5es area and the northern areas of Figueira da Foz and Ericeira, which show higher values varying between 30.1 and 35 kW\/m.<\/p>\n<p>It will be the Government to define which areas will definitely go to auction which, according to the Portuguese PM, will be launched by the end of the current year.<\/p>\n<!-- AddThis Advanced Settings generic via filter on the_content --><!-- AddThis Share Buttons generic via filter on the_content -->","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>This is one of the ocean areas currently under public consultation for the creation of a preliminary proposal.<!-- AddThis Advanced Settings generic via filter on get_the_excerpt --><!-- AddThis Share Buttons generic via filter on get_the_excerpt --><\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":14,"featured_media":33841,"comment_status":"closed","ping_status":"closed","sticky":false,"template":"","format":"standard","meta":{"_monsterinsights_skip_tracking":false,"_monsterinsights_sitenote_active":false,"_monsterinsights_sitenote_note":"","_monsterinsights_sitenote_category":0,"footnotes":""},"categories":[70],"tags":[],"class_list":["post-52856","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","category-society"],"yoast_head":"<!-- This site is optimized with the Yoast SEO plugin v25.5 -
