Text and Photography:<\/strong> S\u00f3nia Nunes<\/p>\n <\/p>\n It’s been a beautiful few days here in Ericeira.<\/p>\n Just as I like it.<\/p>\n Cold\u2026 and full of sun.<\/p>\n A strong sun that warms and energizes.<\/p>\n Since I live here, whenever I look at the sea<\/p>\n the immense horizon… and especially at the end of the day…<\/p>\n when the sunset approaches…<\/p>\n that moment to which\u2026<\/p>\n so absolutely stunning…<\/p>\n there are no words…<\/p>\n I only think:<\/p>\n Here we are closer to God.<\/p>\n This is always my thought.<\/p>\n There is no other.<\/p>\n It’s the best description I can find.<\/p>\n Every day a different show.<\/p>\n Gray days of an agitated, turbulent… and frightening sea.<\/p>\n Others calm and a sea that is so serene that it Gifts us<\/p>\n with beautiful and varied shades of blue.<\/p>\n Others, yet, the clouds draw in the skies<\/p>\n real dream scenarios\u2026<\/p>\n \u2026 of charm.<\/p>\n Pastel tones that hypnotize\u2026<\/p>\n scenarios that are true invitations to dive<\/p>\n inside ourselves.<\/p>\n Days and landscapes that<\/p>\n are perfect metaphors for life\u2026<\/p>\n That encourage us to have patience and endurance to<\/p>\n face the toughest and dullest days.<\/p>\n Or having the joy and humility to savor and know how to recognize each one<\/p>\n of the blessings present in our lives.<\/p>\n When looking at the landscape<\/p>\n I feel immense gratitude.<\/p>\n Being able to see everyday the beautiful pictures<\/p>\n that God paints, especially at the end of each day,<\/p>\n is to make sure He is present.<\/p>\n Today, tomorrow… and always.<\/p>\n These soft and solemn moments reinforce in me<\/p>\n the certainty that something deeper<\/p>\n and true awaits us… and contemplates us too…<\/p>\n \u2026 beyond all the coldness, evil, inconsistencies and disappointments<\/p>\n that affect and shake us daily…<\/p>\n God is there.<\/p>\n Hence these wonderful and divine astral mechanics<\/p>\n It works flawlessly and uninterruptedly.<\/p>\n And that allows us to fall asleep and wake up<\/p>\n every day.<\/p>\n Starting over.<\/p>\n Enabling that at every dawn<\/p>\n something changes in us, wakes us up from our existential sleep<\/p>\n and makes us go deeper into our<\/p>\n inner questions…<\/p>\n Making use of the wonderful faculties with which he has endowed us.<\/p>\n Intelligence, curiosity, scientific… and critical spirit.<\/p>\n \u2026 something that is not just our\u00a0unconscious<\/p>\n flow through life.<\/p>\n Or the sufferings inherent to this human condition of ours…<\/p>\n Hoping something will make us<\/p>\n finally get closer to Him…<\/p>\n And so\u2026<\/p>\n know it<\/p>\n out there, around us…<\/p>\n but mostly within us.<\/p>\n It’s at that time.<\/p>\n So intimate.
