{"id":51722,"date":"2022-11-17T00:01:52","date_gmt":"2022-11-17T00:01:52","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.ericeiramag.pt\/?p=51722\/"},"modified":"2022-11-08T11:09:44","modified_gmt":"2022-11-08T11:09:44","slug":"ericeira-parish-council-honors-gaivota","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.ericeiramag.pt\/en\/ericeira-parish-council-honors-gaivota\/","title":{"rendered":"Ericeira Parish Council honors \u201cO Gaivota\u201d"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Photography:<\/strong> Ruy Dinis<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>After the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ericeiramag.pt\/en\/ze-mosca-and-algodio\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">evocation of &#8216;Z\u00e9 Mosca&#8217;<\/a>, the Ericeira Parish Council proceeded with the tribute to another charismatic figure in the village.<\/p>\n<p>This time, a memorial to Ant\u00f3nio Magalh\u00e3es Duarte, better known as \u201cO Gaivota\u201d [&#8220;The Seagull&#8221;, in Portuguese], who lived in Rua de Baixo, was inaugurated.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.ericeiramag.pt\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/10\/Painel-Gaivota-e1666708746984.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-51548 colorbox-51722\" src=\"https:\/\/www.ericeiramag.pt\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/10\/Painel-Gaivota-e1666708746984.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"1050\" height=\"1050\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>As it could not be otherwise, on this evocative plaque \u2018Gaivota\u2019 appears side by side with his faithful \u2018Tubar\u00e3o\u2019 (=Shark), a little dog that accompanied him everywhere, namely in the daily transport of fuel to supply the fishing boats in the harbour.<\/p>\n<p>The completion of the restoration of the tank located on the northern ramp of the Ericeira Fishing Port (and the aforementioned inauguration of the memorial) took place at the end of September.<\/p>\n<!-- AddThis Advanced Settings generic via filter on the_content --><!-- AddThis Share Buttons generic via filter on the_content -->","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Ant\u00f3nio Magalh\u00e3es Duarte was a very charismatic figure in the village.<!-- AddThis Advanced Settings generic via filter on get_the_excerpt --><!-- AddThis Share Buttons generic via filter on get_the_excerpt --><\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":14,"featured_media":51547,"comment_status":"closed","ping_status":"closed","sticky":false,"template":"","format":"standard","meta":{"_monsterinsights_skip_tracking":false,"_monsterinsights_sitenote_active":false,"_monsterinsights_sitenote_note":"","_monsterinsights_sitenote_category":0,"footnotes":""},"categories":[117],"tags":[],"class_list":["post-51722","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","category-dna"],"yoast_head":"<!-- This site is optimized with the Yoast SEO plugin v25.5 -
